The nomenclative principles were founded according to the nomenclative stipulation of scientific and technological terms. The diagnostic method chapters in Diagnosis of Chinese Medicine, to be a standard teaching material, were taken as the research objects, and there were 7 problems found out and some suggestions were put forward as follows： ① Complementing faulty symptom names; ② Simplifying a complex clinical description （with a single attribute） to define symptom names; ③ Separating clinical descriptions （with multiple attributes） to define symptom names; ④ Combining the symptom names with the same or similar connotation; ⑤ Separating the symptom name with different clinical manifestations and diagnostic meanings; ⑥ To reveal a special diagnostic meaning by assembling multiple symptoms not belong to the diagnostic method; ⑦ Deleting the symptom names of Western medicine.
