A NVR（Network Video Recorder） software platform is developed based on ONVIF protocol framework. ONVIF protocol is applied in the interactive communication among IP cameras,NVR server and clients,which improves the openness of devices. GWT is applied in the development of Web pages,which enables the remote control of NVR devices on various kinds of browser without any plug-in. An application of the developed NVR in substation video monitoring system shows its effectiveness and superiority.
