The light scattering characteristics of random oriented sub-micron oblate spheroidal particle clusters were calculated by T-matrix method. The relationships between the scattering matrix elements and size, refractive index, axial ratio of particles are studied systematically, and the characterization methods for characteristic parameters of particles was obtained. The results are expected to be useful in the measurement of oblate spheroidal particles by using light scattering.
