Temporal loss characteristics（such as the mean duration of loss-runs and pass-runs） can reflect the bursty characteristic of link-level loss.Approaches that have already been presented for multi-cast inference of temporal loss characteristics can not be used for unicast network directly.Aiming at this problem,using multi-packet stripe to simulate multi-cast based end-to-end measurement in unicast network is proposed.Then the joint probability of two successive transmissions and the mean duration of loss-runs are estimated.At last the performance of this method using NS2 is analyzed.
