Caliban is a tumor suppressor.To understand its inherent mechanisms,we screened Caliban interacting proteins using the yeast two-hybrid system.We found four new Caliban interacting proteins,Bip2,Uba2,RpS27A,and CG7182.Moreover,over-expression of transcriptional factor Bip2 suppresses transcription of p53.The tumor suppression function of p53 could be regulated through new mechanisms involving Bip2 and Caliban.
