N-ethylcarbazole was synthesized by alkylation reaction,using carbazole as the material,diethyl carbonate as the alkylating reagent and Cs2CO3/ TEBAC as the cocatalyst. The structure was confirmed by1 H NMR and HR-ESI-MS. Under the optimized conditions[carbazole 200 mmol,diethyl carbonate 1. 2 eq.,Cs2CO30. 05 eq.,TEBAC 0. 05 eq.,at 180 ℃ for 3 h],the yield was up to 99%.
