Abstract: Bio-monitoring with protozoa for water quality has been received more attention in recent years. Due to their species number, widely distribution, large quantity and sensitivity of environmental change, protozoa can be well used in assessing water quality. This article summarized the research process and precautions in it from principles and methods of sampling, dealing with and counting of samples, to representation and analysis of results. And the methods of analysis contain species number, abundance, dominant species, pollution indicator, functional groups, biotical index, statistical analysis and so on, researchers can choose some appropriate ones to use as required.
