Professional tools are the most dynamic part of creation, connecting the traditional handicraft in- dustry and handmade product~. It is necessary to investigate and analyze the ways and features of these tools in the impartment and inheritance of the professional knowledge, especially the relationship between tools, between tools and craftsmen, and between tools and products. Corresponding to these three kinds of relationships, the connotations of folk customs of the inheritance and dissemination of knowledge of tools in the enamel workshop are showed in three aspects, that is, as the marks in every process of produc- tion in the industry, as markers of folk custom identified in the industry and as a significant constituent part of the inheritance and dissemination of professional knowledge.
