Taxa of the genus Clitocybe s. I. reported from China are reviewed with summary of their current research status. A total of 110 taxa were documented. Among them, 72 were reported with supporting collection, 51 are synonyms of other known species or have been combined into other genera and 2 are apparently writing errors of species in other genera. Clitocybe subcandicans Z. S. Bi described from China is a later homonym of C. subcandicans Murrill. Further, some of the Clitocybe s. 1. taxa reported from China were found morphologically different from that described from other coucntries.
