The travel cost method （TCM） is used to evaluate the recreational value of Baiyun Mountain scenic area in Guangzhou. The results discussed and analyzed showed that ： we can get all the tourists travel cost for 475 383.71 million, tourism consumer surplus for 16 874.65 million, the scenic area of the total forest recreation value is 492 258.36 million and average per tourist can enjoy the recreation value of 295.47 yuan. The number of tourists in Baiyun Mountain scenic area is so large but its recreation value is lower than that of other scenic spots. Therefore Baiyun Mountain scenic area management should consider the environmental carrying capacity and enhance the scenic spots in the attraction to increase economic value, allowing park visitors better understand and experience various kinds of tourism resources in scenic spots.
