PR domain containing 16 （PRDM16） is a member of the PR domain-containing protein family and is associated with various diseases including leukocythemia and developmental abnormalities. Moreover, PRDM16 has also been shown to be critical for the development of hematopoietic stem cell and hematopoiesis. Recent evidence proves that PRDM16 is the key gene controlling formation of brown/beige adipose tissue formation.
