本文首先梳理了从西蒙的“近似可分解性”到鲍德温和克拉克的“设计规则”等相关概念,并借助于设计结构矩阵(DSM)提出了一个分析模块化和其他相关概念的基本框架;其次分析了模块化组织与松散耦合系统之间的关系,给出一种全新的松散耦合系统分类方案;最后在该分类方案下建立起三种组织模块化程度测量的指标和方法,以期为组织模块化问题的实证研究打下基础。
This paper first clarifies the concept of modularity and relevant concepts from Simon's "near decomposability" to Baldwin and Clark's "design rule", and proposes a basic framework for the analysis of organizational modularity and other related concepts by the use of design structure matrix. Then it analyzes the relationship between modular organization and loosely coupled system, and presents a new taxonomy for the latter. Finally in this taxonomy it introduces three indicators and methods for the measurement of organizational modularity in order to lay a foundation for further empirical studies.
