Transparent polyurethanes (PUs) are the most important development direction of transparent polymeric materials because of their high transmittance, heat-resistance and regulated mechanical properties. The theoreti- cal study and research orientations of transparent polyurethanes are introduced. The application and research progress for high-performance transparent polyurethanes are summarized. And finally, the future prospect and outlook of high- performance, functional transparent polyurethanes are also discussed.
