Based on the data of 177 county-level administrative units in 2007 in Sichuan for samples,it investigates economic development,population,geography and other factors which affect the size of government. The result shows that economic development,population geography affect the size of government. Thus in optimizing the size of county government,these factors should be considered to establish reasonable government size.
