Workload flurries are key factors that could influence the veracity and representative of the workload model. In this paper, we give a definition of the workload flurries based on two examples of workload flurries, and study how workload flurries can influence the workload model. Then we brought forward an algorithm that can detect the workload flurries through analyzing the variance of the total resource vector and the maximal resource vector. We also study the parameter of time scale At as well as its influence on the algorithm, and give a reasonable range of the parameter.
