By introducing the concept of prototype into auto design, it proposed auto design research based on prototype, then probed the intrinsic reason of SUV Classification, using automobile silhouette shape as an example. By similarity analyzing and clustering, it extracted the SUV group with high typicality and analyzed the styling features of those group members. Finally, the prototype of automobile silhouette shape was acquired and represented and a prototype representation model was constructed.
