A compensated fiber optic displacement sensor(CFODS) which can be applied in the cryogenic instrument was introduced.The output properties of the CFODS at liquid nitrogen temperature (77 K) and liquid helium temperature (4.2 K) were studied. It is found that the sensitivity of the CFODS is0.311 mm-1 at 77 K that is higher than 0.278 mm-1 at 4.2 K.
