The paper studies the formation progress of military settlements of the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty in Zhenbao Town. The progress is divided into three phases： the early Ming Dynasty, the middle and the late Ming Dynasty. Each phase is analyzed from three respects： military thoughts, battles and military systems. The paper discusses the formation progress of the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty in Zhenbao Town and explains the development of the settlements from the establishment of Daning Provincial Garrison to Zhenbao town.
