RNA interference （RNAi） is a regulation mechanism widely existing in eukaryoteic creature. The functional mechanism and biological characteristics of RNAi were introduced,and the new advances and application of RNAi on some research fields in genomics：gene function research, genome immunity system,human diseases gene therapy,prevention and cure of aquiculture diseases were reviewed.
