In this paper, a numerical method for a initial-boundary problem of symmetric regularized long-wave equation was considered. A energy conservative finite difference scheme was proposed. It is proved that the finite difference scheme is convergent in order O （h^2 ＋ T） and stable. Numerical experiments show that our method is credible.
