This article summarizes test standards of the exterior decorative coating systems for civil aviation aircrafts. By contrast with different airworthiness requirements and relevant test standards between Boeing and Airbus, it has been summarized that different test methods could cause different airworthiness requirements. Expectation to establish China＇s airworthiness certification system of the exterior decorative coating is also described.
