Specimens from Northeast Larix wood were treated with high temperature and high pressure under the temperature of 120, 140, 160 and 180℃, and treated time of 10, 20, 30 and 40 min, and vacuum of -0.1 MPa to test the color and painting properties of treated wood. The color index before and after the woods treated and coating film properties before and after the specimens painted were respectively determined. The results show that all the color indexes of the wood treated with high temperature and high pressure had little change, the wood specimens remained largely the original colors of wood characteristics. In terms of painting properties, the performance of un-grease treated wood with high pressure and high temperature overmatched that of the wood specimens treated under high temperature and general pressure.
