This paper attempts to revise and supplement the present IPA chart, putting forward suggestions on the addition and removal of specific symbols, and devising new arrangements. The revisions and arrangements focus on the following aspects： removing the implosives to pulmonic consonants; deleting the chart of other consonants, wherein the affricates will be included in the consonant chart, and the sounds involving two places of articulation （co-articulated） will be included as far as possible in the chart of consonants; distinguishing pre-palatal and post-palatal sounds; adding apical and retroflex vowels; sub-dividing, adjusting as well as adding and removing suprasegemental symbols and diacritics, and rearranging them according to the classifications of these symbols and diacritics.
