Professor Wei Qiping, a well-known expert in Chinese Ophthalmology and Neuro-Ophthalmology,has rich clinical experience in diagnosis and treatment of optic nerve diseases, especially in nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy（NAION）. This article summarized from 4 aspects to introduce Professor Wei＇s clinical experience on using traditional Chinese medicine therapy to treat the NAION： the etiology and pathogenesis,syndrome differentiation and treatment, how to prescribe Chinese medicine, how to prevent the disease and nursing the patients.
