Cyclooxygenase （COX） is a key enzyme in the metabolic process of arachidonic acid. COX-2 and its metabolic product play a key role in the occurrence and development of cardiovascular disease such as artherosclerosis,hypertension and congestive heart failure and etc. COX-2 is inducible by diverse factors such as transactivators including NF-κB, C/EBP, AP-1, MAPKs, and etc. This article reviewed the relationship between COX-2 and cardiovascular diseases and the factors associated with COX-2 transcriptional regulation.
