Brief account of the study on omni-genome and problems involved in genes of secondary metabolites synthesis of Actinomycetes were reviewed.Introduction to structure and function of polyketide genes,and how to screen strains possessing gene clusters that enable to produce bioactive secondary metabolites by utilizing genome-screening procedure as a means to discover new medicine were stressed.
