This paper introduce the development of liquid chromatography -nuclear magnetic resonance-mass spectrometry (LC -NMR- MS) technology and discuss the problems and resolvents encountered in application, then comment on the instrumental configurations and primary working modes of LC - NMR - MS. Application of LC - NMR - MS in characterization of metabolites in biological specimen were reviewed. Finally the fusthe development of LC - NMR - MS technology is predicted.
