The loess deposit in Shandong area occupies an indispensable part in loess deposits system of China due to its variety of genetic types.Its stratigraphic division,depositional age and achievements on loess deposition of climate and environment studied by using substitutive indexes of magnetic susceptibility,microfossils,grain-size,and geochemistry are reviewed.Furthermore,the prospect of the research emphasis for the future is also indicated.
