Briefly introduced the role and history of metal cutting fluid, leading-out the hazards to environment and human health of cutting fluid in metal processing industry, and discussed the development status of green cutting fluids from raw materials. Finally, from the angle of environmental friendly, discussed the development trends of future metal pro- cessing industry, including production, management, usage as well as post-processing.
