The immunochemicalstaining results indicated that ghrelin peptide was expressed in the different developmental stages follicles. The granulosa cells from the early developing follicles were weak positive, whereas oocytes were positive. The presence of the ghrelin signaling system within the different developmental stages follicles opens up the possibility of a potential regulatory role of this novel molecule in reproductive function.
