The classification, bake hardening mechanism, research status of microstructure and properties of bake hardenable steel sheet are summarized. The productive processes of bake hardenable steel and their effect on bake hardening properties are introduced. At last, some remaining problems in current research work and the direction of future development of bake hardening steel are pointed out.
