Basic concept of thermal spraying technology,basic principle of the process and development of tber mal spraying are described, respectively. Research progresses in anti-corrosion coating, high temperature oxidation re sistant coating, abrasion resistant coating, thermal barrier coating and biological coating arc reviewed from three fae- tors..spray technique,powder proportion and spraying parameters. Simultaneously, the application principles of above- mentioned coatings are described. Finally, research direction and current issues are pointed out.
