Studies on body experiences mainly focus on exploring what and how the corporeal body perceives the world,giving prominence to the initiative of the body,and establishing the interaction between body experience and social culture. This study on the shaping of identity consciousness of the ＂Bangbang porters＂ in Chongqing analyzes the relationship between body experience and identity consciousness from the perspective of body experience. The study reveals that the Bangbang porters＇ identity consciousness is not only the result of their own body experience,but also the consequence of the restriction by social ideology. The Bangbang porters＇ body experience and the society have jointly built the strong body performing physical work and established their identity of inferior status.
