The GATA transcription factor family is a group of zinc finger transcription factors and plays an important role in mammalian heart development. A lot of studies indicate that GATA transcription factor family not only participates in the normal development of the heart,its mutation and abnormal expression also has a close relationship with congenital heart disease. Here is to make a review of the influence of GATA4, GATA5 and GATA6 on the normal heart development and the relationship with congenital heart disease,and summarize the mutation site information, so as to improve the knowledge on the GATA family.
