Geriatric teaching is regarded as an important part of medical education and the starting point for a medical student to become a qualified geriatric doctor. With the rapid development of modem science and technology, new philosophy has been added to geriatric teaching. Today the task of geriatric teaching is to cultivate students＇ comprehensive quality rather than to impart only knowledge. The following measures may improve the level of geriatric teaching： improving teachers＇ quality, cultivating and training students＇ clinical practice ability, enhancing professional ethics and humanistic education.
