The nitroxide radical-diamagnetic metal Zn (Ⅱ) complex of [Zn (IM4Py)2 (OCN) 2] (IM4Py = 2- ( 4'-pyridyl )- 4,4, 5,5-tetramethylimidazoline- 1-oxyl ) was synthesized and characterized structurally and magnetically. It crystallizes in the monoelinie space group Pn, with a=1. 231 4(5), b=0.605 5(2), c=2.256 3(7) nm; β= 119. 615(16)° Every Zn ( Ⅱ ) is coordinated by two IM4Py and two OCN- in a tetrahedron environment. The variable magnetic measurement shows that there is weak ferromagnetic interaction between the two IM4Py radicals linked by Zn( Ⅱ ) ion.
