In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Huizhou merchants were not only quite successful on the economic stage, but also very colorful in their daily life of leisure culture. By plenty of historical documents,the article classifies Huizhou merchants＇ life of leisure culture into six types： enjoying books, writing poetry, being fond of collecting, touring landscapes, falling over themselves for traditional Chinese opera and having much enjoyment for demimonde. And Huizhou merchants＇ life of leisure culture embodies the characteristics of advocating culture and being cultured on the whole.
