GU Shanqiang was born in Zhoukou, Henan, China, in 1980. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Depart- ment of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University separately in 2002, 2004, and 2007. From Sept. 2007 to May 2010, he was a post doctor in Electric Power Research Institute, State Grid Corporation of China （SGCC）. And Since Dec. 2010 he has become a senior engineer. His research interests include lightning detection and protection technology, long air gap discharge and electric arc physics. CHEN Jiahong was born in Wuhan, Hubei, China, in 1960. He received the B.S. degree from Deparmaent of Electric Power Engineering, Shanghai Jiaotong University in 1982. Since 1997 he has become a pmfessor. His research interests include lightning detection and protection technology, smart high voltage technology.
