The process of autophagy is a cyclic utilization mechanism preserved in the course of biological evolution. In general, this process is important for cell survival under the adverse circumstances. The process, however, has close relations with cell development and apoptosis. This paper reviewed the morphological features of three types of autophagy and the effects on cell involved in which the molecular regulations of autophagy by the way of autophagosome＇s formation.
