In order to improve the mechanical strength and the stability of the alginate hydrogel, chitosan derivatives, N- methyl phosphate chitosan (NMPC) were introduced into injectable calcium alginate hydrogel system. According to the mechanical properties, extracts pH and gelaton time of the hydrogel, the optimization component content were determined by orthogonal experiment: sodium alginate 1. 50%, calcium carbonate 0.30% , N - methyl phosphate chitosan 1.00%, citric acid 0.30%. Cell culture and intramuscular implantation experiments showed that Alg/NMPC hydrogel had good biocompatibilities.
