Ligand-exchange can be applied particularly for the chiral separation of amino acids, amino alcohols or α-hydroxy acids, especially by the use of capillary electrophoresis. In terms of different chiral ligands （including amino acids, amino acylamides, ionic liquids as well as other ligands）, this review summarized the researches on the enantioseparation by ligand-exchange capillary electrophoresis.
