英文摘要：

Drawing on the Black-box,White-box and Gray-box models used in energy consumption analysis for complex systems ,this article presents the method for assessing the energy efficiency of the petroleum pro- duction system and describes its process.Based on thermodynamic principles and from the point of view of using energy efficiently ,the article discusses the concept of potential for saving energy and establishes a sys- tem of criteria for assessing energy saving potential,i.e. ,the theoretical efficiency ratio,the maximum efficien- cy ratio ,the designed efficiency ratio,the minimum unit consumption ratio ,and the designed unit consumption ratio.Also,the article describes the methods of assessing energy saving potential based on these criteria as well as the methods of quantifying the potential.
