园林式博物馆由主体建筑和园林空间共同构成，园林符号的象征作用是园林式博物馆被赋予灵魂的关键，如何合理地提取和组织传统园林符号，并创造性地传承和发展传统文化是当前急需探究的课题。研究通过文献梳理和实地调研的方式，将中国传统园林符号概括为营建要素、造园手段和文化内涵三个方面，并从这三处入手详细剖析了园林符号的提取及其在博物馆建筑设计中的应用。

英文摘要：

Garden-style museum consists of the main building and garden space together.The symbolism of garden symbols is the key to making garden-like museums to be given to the soul. Therefore. it is urgent to explore how to properly extract and organize the traditional garden symbols then creatively inherit and develop traditional culture. This study takes the garden symbols in modern garden-style museums as the object by combing the literature and field research. On the basis of this research method, it summarizes the Chinese traditional garden symbols into three aspects： construction elements, gardening tools and cultural connotations. And this study starts a detailed analysis of the extract of Chinese classical garden culture symbols and their application in the modern garden-style museums.
