Temporal fractal characteristic of seismic activity during 1992-2002 in Yunnan Chuxiong seismic zone is studied. The capacity dimension and information dimension of seismic temporal distribution are calculated, and temporal variation curves of capacity dimension and information dimension are obtained. The results show that there is a temporal fractal structure in seismic activity in Chuxiong seismic zone. Capacity dimension and information dimension of temporal fractals of seismic activity all show a dimension-descending phenomenon before strong earthquake occurring.
