The positive feedback based on network effects are playing more and more important role in the network economy, and how do the network effects influence patent pools？ Network effects were introduced in the utility function of the consumer, and two -staged dynamic game model was built. In the first stage, the patent pools set up the royalty; in the second stage, the member of patent pool conduct price competition in the downstream final goods market. In conclusion, the royalty of patent pools is reducing when the network effects is increasing; the demand of consumer is increasing when the network effects is increasing; the profit of the member of patent pools is increasing when the network effects is increasing, it indicated that gaining network effects was one of the motives of the company building the patent pool.
