Factor Xa（FXa） is a serine protease playing a pivotal role in the blood coagulation cascade. It occupied the central position that is the convergence point of intrinsic and extrinsic pathways,sand it has become an attractive biologic target in the discovery and development of new active anticoagulant agents. In this review,we will illustrate the structure and function of FXa,the widely used FXa inhibitors and potent FXa inhibitors from natural resources.
