The paper summarizes scholars＇ understanding of self development ability by combing relevant documents of selfdevelopment ability,and analyzes connotation of self-development ability.Self-development ability refers to the areas＇ internal power which manifests platform building of economy and centripetal force of people＇ s consciousness towards areas＇ development in the aspect of economy,and the harmonious unity between economic development and social culture in the aspect of social culture.On this basis,the paper analyzes mechanism of socio-cultural contexts＇ impacts on minority areas＇ self-development ability.
