Malus baccata（L.）Borkh.is a kind of wild fruit tree resource with epochmaking research value,which is widely distributed in our country.In this paper,we reviewed the processes in classification and origins,diversity level（phenotypic diversity and genetic diversity）and utilization in the breeding research of Malus baccata（L.）Borkh.The aim is to provide a basis for better protection and utilization for the wild Malus baccata（L.）Borkh.
