Aim To study the attribute reduction of an interval-valued formal context within the formal concept a- nalysis. Methods The discernibility matrix of an interval-valued attribute set and reduction of an interval-valued formal context are defined, and then, the judgment theorem of the consistent sets is studied. Results The judg- ment theorem of the consistent sets is obtained, and the approach to attribute reduction of interval-valued concept lattice is given based on the discernibility matrix. Conclusion Interval-valued formal contexts can be reduced to obtain simpler attribute reducts.
