After measuring the total-factor productivity of education expenditure, technical efficiency and progress according to 2000-2012 education input and output data of the 11 Municipalities and Districts in Jiangxi Province, this paper makes an analysis of the factors influencing education expenditure efficiency. The result shows that per capita GDP has significant negative impact on total-factor productivity of education expenditure, but the size of government has significant positive impact on total-factor productivity. The result also shows that per capita GDP has a significant positive effect on technical efficiency of education expenditure, that per capita GDP has a significant negative effect on technical progress of education expenditure, and that the size of government has a significant positive effect on technical progress of education expenditure.
